General contracting is the most recognized style of residential construction. In this form of contract the owner chooses the style and plan of house and agrees to a set price. The general contractor then assumes all responsibilities and completes the project to turnkey. Changes after the contract signing are based on a lump sum price increase and are not subject to negotiations. This form of contract is closed book and all contingencies are built into the base price of the project.
The largest advantage to this type of contract setup is that Ontario New Home Warranty will apply.
